Schaub’s 2010 Season Far Different from 2009 Successes

Through five games this season, Houston Texans starting quarterback Matt Schaub has produced dismal numbers compared to last season’s successes. Last season’s Pro Bowl year that started off with 11 touchdowns and only four interceptions through five games, but this year Schaub’s first five games have doomed only seven touchdowns and five interceptions.  Although the quarterback is not the only one to blame for the team’s two losses, he has been shaky to say the least.  In the loss against the Giants Sunday, Schaub had one interception along with 197 yards in the air.  Additionally, he has cracked under pressure and has thrown only three touchdowns in the past three games.  Fearfully, it appears that Matt Schaub is returning to his early-Texans form and allowing the pass rush to throw him off his game.  This week the Texans take on the Kansas City Chiefs at home.  The Chiefs do an excellent job of pressuring the quarterback so Texans head coach Gary Kubiak should prepare ahead of time to remedy Schaub’s frantic passing under pressure.
