Houston Texans starting quarterback Matt Schaub is currently participating in Gatorade’s Super Bowl sports lab. Specifically, Schaub’s been paired with former University of Washington starting quarterback Jake Locker in a mentorship-type role.
“He’s got a great head on his shoulders,” Schaub told Jim Rome. “He approaches the game the right way. Once a team teaches him their system, he has the makeup to be a solid quarterback and has a bright future.
The Texans are in no need of a quarterback, but the positive news on Locker’s approach to the game should definitely boost his draft status coming up to April’s 2011 NFL Draft.
