Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips returned to work for two hours but didn’t attend practice according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. His work load is expected to increase each day. Expect him to coach from the coaches booth during Sunday’s game against Tennessee at Reliant Stadium.
Phillips missed both losses while recovering from kidney and gallbladder surgery. Barring a setback, he’ll make the calls from the coaches booth before returning to the sideline for the playoff game. Linebackers coach Reggie Herring, who has made the defensive calls during Phillips’ absence, will be on the sideline against the Titans.
