Can the Texans Pull Off Some Upsets Against Some of the Best in the NFL in 2021?

2020 couldn’t have been a bigger disaster for the Texans, who had a quarterback who wanted out and wasn’t shy talking about it, and a coaching staff that was outmatched and eventually fired by the front office.

The team spent much of the later half of the season looking as to who would be a fit for the team (deciding on Ravens WR coach David Culley as head coach), and also watching as teams just outplayed them.

While there’s a number of great matchups on the Texans slate in 2021, including divisional games vs the Colts, Titans and Jags, the team also has a number of great games, home and away to look forward to.

Here are the 3 matchups that I’m most looking forward to when it comes to Houston in 2021:

9/19 at Cleveland – The Browns are going to be everyone’s darling as the AFC choice in 2021, and if Houston can find a way with Watson or whoever is under center to pull out a road win, they will make a massive statement with a new coach and staff. Don’t underestimate the Texans in this early road affair.

10/13 vs Los Angeles Rams – The Rams have a new look with QB Matt Stafford now their starting QB over Jared Goff, who was moved to the Lions. Last season Los Angeles had the best defense in the NFL, and as long as Aaron Donald is playing on the line, the Rams are a force to be dealt with. You have to watch this team as they could be an upset pick in the NFC to make the Super Bowl.

12/12 vs Seattle – Anytime you face potential MVP Russell Wilson you always need to be on your toes. The Texans late in the season will need to be in that mode when Seattle comes to town for a late December affair. No question that the Hawks will be the likely favorites but that doesn’t mean Houston can’t pull off the upset.
